In partnership with clinical and operational leadership and staff from across UnityPoint Health, the Government & External Affairs Department has recently submitted formal public comments and feedback on the following:

  • 340B Hospital Survey
  • Medicaid Medically Complex Children
  • Hospice Medicare FY 2021 Rates
  • COVD-19 Utilization Reporting
  • Iowa Integrated Health Home State Plan Amendment
  • COVID-19 Pandemic Response 
  • Inpatient Prospective Payment System 2021 Rates

Recent collaborative and sign-on efforts include:

  • COVID-19: Lessons Learned to Prepare for the Next Pandemic – letter from The Academy Advisors to the U.S. Senate HELP Committee
  • Federal COVID Telehealth Continuation – letter from the Interstate Healthcare Collaborative to the Department of Health & Human Services
  • Crisis Care Improvement and Suicide Prevention Act of 2020 – endorsement of Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (D-IL-17) legislation
  • Rural Community Hospital Demonstration Extension Act of 2020 – endorsement of Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer (D-IA-1) legislation
