Anne Webster, APRN, practicing at UPH Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism Clinic in Peoria (photo, left), has been a champion for her diabetic patients and their need for affordable medications. Anne’s insights were recently featured in a 340B Health podcast as well as a Pharmacy Times article (supported by UPH MarComm). The 340B Drug Pricing Program is a federal program that provides financial help to hospitals serving vulnerable communities to manage rising prescription drug costs through discounted drug pricing. Beginning in July 2020, six drug companies began taking specific actions that limited access to these discounted drugs, including the denial of 340B pricing on drugs dispensed at contract pharmacies. The advocacy ask is for Health and Human Services to enforce 340B pricing by drug manufacturers in contracted 340B.
