Dr. Lisa Veach Appointed to the Iowa Infectious Disease Advisory Council

UnityPoint Health® is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lisa Veach to the Iowa Infectious Disease Advisory Council (IDAC).

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, in partnership with the Iowa Department of Human Services and the Iowa Department of Public Health, announced the formation of the new statewide council in December 2020. The 25-member council has been charged with identifying and developing statewide strategies and recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics.

“Dr. Veach is the perfect choice to represent UnityPoint Health on the council,” said Dr. David Williams, Chief Clinical Officer for UnityPoint Health. “She continues to be recognized by our state’s top leaders for her clinical expertise, tireless contributions and focus in fighting the COVID-19 global pandemic. Dr. Veach’s leadership has truly been life-saving for Iowans during this difficult time.”

Dr. Veach, an infectious disease physician and infection control officer for UnityPoint Health® – Des Moines, is also an active member of the UnityPoint Health Infection Control Committee. Dr. Veach received her medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
