Regulatory Update – December 2021

UnityPoint Health has submitted comments letters in response to agency proposals; SAMHSA Mental Health Outcomes and IPP Indicators, HRSA Criteria for Determining Maternity Care Health Professional Target Areas and CMS Surprise Billing Part II. In addition, UnityPoint Health submitted comments to the state of Iowa in response to Medicaid Inpatient Hospital Reimbursement Rates. The UnityPoint Health Government and External Affairs team is actively partnering with operational leaders on the following proposals currently open for comment: OSHA COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing ETS and CMS Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination Interim Final Rule.

The Government & External Affairs team works with subject matter experts from across UnityPoint Health to review these proposed regulations and provide formal input on behalf of the system.
